Can
you imagine a US government supported national event that walked hundreded
of thousands of Hindu children into a burger joint and forced them to
chow down on a big juicy burger knowing full well that it was in direct
conflict with their religious beliefs?
Can you image a government forcing a family of Muslems to have their
daughter appear half naked in public?
In todays world of religious freedom and respect these acts would be
seen as those of a tyrant... right?
Now did you know:
New York, NY The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, or
GLSEN, is pleased to announce that the Day of Silence observed last Wednesday,
April 13, 2005, was the most successful and widely supported since the
student-led annual events inception in 1996. An estimated record
450,000 students from more than 4,000 K-12 schools, colleges and universities
in all 50 states and Puerto Rico participated in the days events
this year. The Day of Silence is an annual, national student-led effort
in which participants take a vow of silence to peacefully protest the
discrimination and harassment faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender
(LGBT) youth in schools.

The questions for the reader of this article are these: Did this event
occur during public school hours, on public school grounds with public
school teacher support and endorcement? Did our governement officially
endorce the secular worldview of homosexual behavior being normal and
respectable to their student body. Does our government officially endorce
and allow the preaching of this secular world view ?
Now back to the first illustration: No, I guess they didnt make the Hindu
children eat - they just make them watch.
